Inspired by the picturesque hamlet built for young queen Marie Antoinette at the Palace of Versailles, Michael Aram’s Ivy & Oak Collection reflects the beauty of nature and the romance of rural living. Porcelain dinnerware is inspired by a milkmaid’s bucket carried by the Queen. Serveware pieces, handcrafted of metal, marble and glass, are accented with winding cast ivy elements to create what the designer describes as a “balance between palace and country life.”
- During his first trip to Delhi, Michael Aram was so captivated by the rich tradition of craftsmanship and centuries-old metalworking techniques that he set up his own studio. More than 30 years later, over 200 local Indian artisans handcraft
- exquisite tableware, linens, and decorative objects for the home. Inspired by the natural world and drawing on the designer’s background as a painter, a sculptor, and an art historian, the brand’s striking creations pair delicate organic
- details with signature metalwork.
